Frequently Asked Questions

What is mobile physical therapy?

Mobile physical therapy is the same as the kind of physical therapy that you would get at an outpatient clinic, except I bring all of the equipment to you.

What treatment can we do at my house?

I typically bring a treatment table so we can do manual therapy. I also bring portable weights and bands to help you do exercises and develop an exercise program.

Is there an extra cost for mobile physical therapy?

No. I bill your insurance exactly the same as I would if you saw any other physical therapist at a physical therapy clinic.

Do I need to clean up my house?

Please don’t. Life is already too busy.

What do I need to wear?

Wear comfortable clothes. Typical sessions involve a combination of manual therapy and movement, so wear something comfortable that you can move in easily.

What should I expect in my treatment sessions?

In our first visit we will discuss your injury, and a lot of the time is spent doing an exam to find out what your injury is, and what imbalances may contribute to your injury. In the first visit you will get exercises and movements to do as your home exercise program to start healing your injury.

Follow-up visits often involve a combination of manual therapy and exercises. My main emphasis is on making sure that you understand what is causing your injury and to make sure that you have the tools you need to get your injury to heal.

Can I have my partner, parent or child with me during our treatment session?

Of course! Family members are welcome to join, and mobile physical therapy is meant for busy parents, so it’s no problem if you have to watch your kid too while we’re doing treatment.

What about pets?

I love pets too. Pets can be nearby in the session, but please for my safety make sure they are well behaved. If your pet sometimes jumps up or can get territorial please let me know about this before your treatment session so that we can make a plan for your furry friend.
